Dr. Tonia Porchia Psy.D.
Dr. Porchia is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist at the Hollywood Psychology Center. She is a graduate of Argosy University with a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology.
She has worked in the Mental Health field for more than 10 years and has been employed with the Department of Veterans Affairs for the past five years.
She has extensive experience in the treatment of anxiety/mood disorders (such as Major Depression, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, and Generalized Anxiety), and Substance Use Disorders/Addictive behaviors (such as alcohol/drug dependence and Gambling/sex addiction). Dr. Porchia has also helped individuals resolve relationship / interpersonal issues, improve self-esteem, and recover from grief and loss. Her approach to treatment is client centered to provide a trusting/warm empathetic relationship utilizing evidenced based Integrative and Cognitive-Behavioral methods. Dr. Porchia has experience in treating adults, adolescents, and couples. She also conducts psychological testing for children and adults (Intellectual/Cognitive testing, clarify diagnoses, and Neuropsychological screening).
She specializes in family issues that are unique to the military family, such as family re-integration after deployment, social and academic challenges that are indicative to frequent moving and relationship counseling. She also specializes in the geriatric population and their special needs.
